Richard C. Nelson of 43 Sampson St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday May 26,1983 at 10:07 p.m. at Mon Valley Hospital. He was 93. Mr. Nelson was born in Belle Vernon on Jan. 10,1890,a son of the late Harvey and Frances Weiberg Nelson. He was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon. He was retired from the Adamston Glass Co.,Clarksburg, W.Va. He previously worked at American Window in Belle Vernon until the business closed. He was a glass cutter for over 50 years. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Reese Nelson in 1956; a son, James T. Nelson and a great-grandson, Dickie Fields. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Alverta) Raymond of Belle Vernon,with whom he made his home; a son, Richard H. Nelson of Clarksburg, W. Va.; six grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Sunday at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lowell Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
