Avellino "Lene" Mavrikas,70,of Sarasota,Fla.,formerly of Belle Vernon,died Sunday,July 30,2000,in Perry County,Pa. Born July 3,1930,in Washingtron Township,she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel Bloom Eckard. Protestant by faith,she was preceded in death by a sister,Romona Colucci. Survivors include her husband,Harry Mavrikas;children,Harry Mavrikas and wife Vanessa of Sarasota,Fla.,Tom Mavrikas and wife Rosemary of Belle Vernon,Richard Mavrikas and wife Nancy of Sarasota,Fla.,Nicky Joe Mavrikas and wife Rosalie of Sarasota,Fla.;and Syndee Mavrikas of Sarasota,Fla;two sisters, June Smith of Baltimore,Md.,and Carol Tomasi of Honeybrook,Pa.;and nine grandchilren. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.,334 Main St.,Fayette City,where services will be held Tuesday at 9 p.m.with the Rev. Michael Shepard officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
