Carleton M. Mooers, 78, of Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born Dec. 8,1921 in Gardiner, Maine, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Doris Shepherd Mooers. Mr. Mooers
was retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant where he worked in the tool and die department. He was a 32 degree Mason, and was Protestant by faith. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his
wife, Katherine McCrory Mooers; a son, Ralph D. Mooers and his wife, Margaret, of Belle Vernon; a daughter, Linda J. Bonner and her husband, Douglas, of Parsons, W. Va.; a step son, Ben Carl Hitchcock and his wife, Fran, of Girard, Ohio; a step daughter, Lynn Haughton and,her husband, Tom,of Parkland, Fla.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Belle Vernon Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Elwood Vandiver officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC. is in charge of arrangements.
