James Art Myers; 90; of
Placentia; Calif.; died Monday;
June 21; 1999.
He was born in Monessen on
Jan. 24;1909.
Mr. Myers graduated with
honors from Monessen High
School in 1925. He played on the
City of Monessen basketball
team.
He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and in the
United States Marine Corps
during World War II. Following
his discharge in 1945; he settled in Lakewood;Calif. Survivors include his son;Kim A.Myers of Oregon City;Ore.;a daughter;Doris K.Haller of Placentia;Calif.;and a brother;Harry T.Myers of Monessen;seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In June 1933;he married Nelle Minardi;who preceded him in death. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. Services will be held at 11 a.m.Tuesday at the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The McAulny & Wallace Mortuary;Fullerton;Calif.;is handling the arrangements.
