Thomas C. Melvin,83,of 34 Pacific Blvd.,Monessen,died Friday,July 4,1995,at 11:10 p.m. in Willis Center, Homestead. Born June 11,1912,in Pittsburgh,he was a son of the late Thomas and Catherine Hennessey Melvin. Previously of Charleroi,he had lived in Monessen the past 12 years. Mr. Melvin was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. He was a retired lineman for West Penn Power Company,where he had worked for 41 years. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Marguerite "Dietz" McManus Melvin, who died Dec. 6,1993. Survivors include two sons, Casey Melvin of Warren, Ohio,and Paul Melvin of Avon, Conn.;one brother, Joseph Melvin of Charleroi;two sisters, Marge Dudra of Las Vegas,Ariz.,and Mrs. Norman (Grace) Pendo of Belle Vernon;six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a Prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev. John R. Cindrc,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
