Obituary

Gilbert Mastronicola,59,of Charleroi,died Monday,Jan.4,1993,in the South Fayette Nursing Center,Markleysburg. Mr.Mastronicola was born Feb.24,1933,in Charleroi,a son of the late Luke and Violet Oliphant Mastronicola. Prior to retiring,he had been a barber for many years in Charleroi. Mr.Mastronicola was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Fallowfield Baptist Church. Mr.Mastronicola was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.167 and American Legion Post No.22,both of Charleroi. Surviving are two sons,Jeff and daughter-in-law Marlene Mastronicola of Markleysburg and Tim and daughter-in-law Mary Mastronicola of Butler,two daughters,Mrs.Lee (Val) Thistlethwaite of Grindstone and Mrs.Robert (Kathy) Seitz of Athens,Pa.,two brothers,Art and Bob Mastronicola,both of Orlando,Fla.,one sister,Mrs.Frank (Isabelle) Zencuch of Charleroi,and 10 grandchildren. A daughter,Lori Mastronicola,two brothers,Luke and Norman Mastronicola,and one sister,JoAnn Turner,are deceased. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.with Pastor Alan Morris of the Fallowfield Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
