Obituary

John E. McCauley,81,of Belle Vernon R.D.2, Rostraver Township,died Sunday, Dec. 27,1992,at 1:04 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Mr. McCauley was born Aug. 21,1911,in Aliquippa,a son of the late Cornelius and Mary Ann O'Loughlin McCauley. He was one of the original members of the Board of Directors of the Rostraver Township Planning and Zoning Commission and was currently serving a term of office on that Board. Mr. McCauley had first worked at the Monessen Plant of the former Pittsburgh Steel Company and was later employed at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation,where he retired,in December,1971,after 43 years of service.  At the time of his retirement,he was serving as superintendent of the plant's annealing mill.  Mr. McCauley had resided in Rostraver Township for the past 50 years. He was a member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church,Rostraver Township,and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member and past president of the Belle Vernon Area Rotary Club.  Mr. McCauley was also a member of the Rostraver AARP and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 494,Charleroi. Surviving are his wife, Maude Dalton McCauley,with whom he had celebrated 56 years of marriage,one daughter, Patricia McCauley Hogan of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.,and a granddaughter,Rebecca Hogan,of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.  Two brothers, Cornelius and Charles McCauley and three sisters, Mary, Elnora and Gertrude are deceased. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer service wll be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anne Roman Catholic Church,Rostraver Township,with the Rev. Thomas Rogers,pastor,as celebrant.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The family suggests contributions in Mr. McCauley's memory may be made to the Clelian Heights School, Greensburg,the American Heart Association,or to the Rostraver Emergency Medical Services. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is handlig the arrangements.
