Obituary

Doris L. Cook Milsom,82, of Rostraver Township,died Friday,June 28,1991, at Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness.  She was born in Monessen on June 26,1909, a daughter of the late Frank and Delia Learnard Cook. Mrs. Milsom was a Moneseen resident many years prior to moving to Rostraver Township. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monessen,the Order of the Eastern Star,Chapter 205 of Monesssen and the Mon Valley Chapter of the Pitt Golden Panthers.  Formerly,she was active in the Order of Rainbow Girls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Milsom;a stepmother, Mary Deter Cook;and two sisters, Laelia Hoskinson and Virginia McCullough. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean L. and Melvin S. Bane of North Charleroi and Marilyn and Donald G. Williams of Rostraver Township;two granddaughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Colleen) Buchanan and Mrs. Tim (Patty) Bish; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin Cook of New Eagle,Leonard Cook of Monessen and George Cook of Geneva,Ohio;one sister, Marian Hicks of State College and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,where services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Scott Koeppen of the First Baptist Church of Monessen officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Monessen. Rhome Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
