Ethel Hammond Mavromatis, 92,of 414 Graham St., Belle Vernon,died Thursday, Aug. 23,1990,at 3 a.m. in Jefferson Hospital. She was born May 19,1898,in New York state,a daughter of the late Ernest and Elizbeth Bodley Hammond. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,Mrs. Mavromatis was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon. She was also a member of the Martha Circle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Mavromatis in April on 1958; four sisters, Edith,Bessie, Loella and Elizabeth and a granddaughter, Sharon. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marie Buick of Pittsburgh and Mrs. William (Virginia) Mondy of Richmond,Va., four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:0 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Thomas St. Clair,pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of the arangements.
