Mary N.(Hutchison) Moats;88;of Star Junction;formerly of Fayette City;died Tuesday;Feb.13;1990;at 6:35 a.m. in Mon Valley hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born July 23;1901;in Jefferson Township;a daughter of the late James and Sarah Wright Hutchison. Mrs.Moats was a member of the Little Redstone United Presbyterian Church;Fayette City R.D. She was a also a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Brightwell-Daughtery American Legion Post 484 of Fayette City and a Gold Star Mother. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Sevester (Wes) Moats in September 1985;and one son;Melvin in the Korean War in 1950. Survivors include two sons;James Moats of Belle Vernon (Fairhope) and Paul Moats of Charleroi R.D.2 (Warner);three daughters;Mrs.Phillip (Mary Catherine) Karcesky of Baltimore;Md.;Mrs Thomas (Virginia) Matty of Star Junction and Mrs.Benjamin (Thelma) Yates of Fayette City R.D.1;one sister;Mrs.Veletha Schroyer of Tampa;Fla.;11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Robert Cromwell of the Little Redstone United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be held in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
