Obituary

John Mazza of 218 Main St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,Feb.24,1986,at 1:51 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 75. Mr.Mazza was born June 18,1910,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late James and Sarah Alessio Mazza. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,he was a U.S.Navy veteran of World War II. Mr.Mazza retired in 1972 from the Allenport Plant of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife,Santina Lepri Mazza,his second wife,Pearl Greene Mazza,a son,Merle,a daughter,Sarah,four brothers,Frank,Tony,Dominik and William,and by three sisters,Mary and Rose Mazza and Catherine Trozzo. Survivors include a daughter,Beverly Mazza of Clairton,a son,William Mazza of Clairton,three sisters,Josephine Teano,Gilda Duda and Mrs.Alex (Mary) Teska,all of Belle Vernon,several nieces and nephews,and a good friend,Juanita Stinogle of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Thursday,Feb.27,at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
