Obituary

John Michaels Jr.of Tyrol Pass,Monessen,died suddenly on Friday,Feb.7,1986,at 3:41 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 69. Mr.Michaels was born May 5,1916,in Homestead,a son of Anna Vagasky Michaels of Monessen and the late John Michaels Sr.,who died Dec.3,1955. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister,Agnes Michaels,Jan.15,1933. A resident of Monessen the past 40 years,Mr.Michaels was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. He retired in January 1985 from the construction department of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Monessen Plant. A U.S.Army veteran of World War II,he was a member of the Steelworkers Retirees Club,the Raven Club,Sokols and the Monessen Booster Club. In addition to his mother,survivors include four brothers,Joseph at home,Frank of Elizabeth,Elmer of Monessen and Anthony Paul at home,four sisters,Ann Pagonis of Monongahela,Helen Martin of Clearwater,Fla.,Margaret Mann of Monongahela and Mrs.Ted (Dolores) Zyglowicz of Monessen,and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Monday,Feb.10,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
