Stephen Matway of Perryopolis died Friday at 6:55 p.m. in the Uniontown Hospital. He was 71. Mr.Matway was born Jan. 1;1912;in Perryopolis;a son of the late John and Mary Uhlar Matway. He was owner of Matway Tractor Sales;Perryopolis. Mr.Matway was a member of St.John’s Roman Catholic Church and St.Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church;both of Perryopolis. Survivors include his wife;Ann Matway;a son;Bernard S.Matway of Perryopolis;a daughter;Shirley Ann Matway at home;two grandchildren;three brothers;John of Monongahela R.D.1;Michael of Detroit;Mich.and George of Perryopolis;and two sisters;Mrs.Helen Cameron of Long Island;N.Y.and Mrs. Carl (Betty) Cimini of Perrypolis. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home;Inc.;Perryopolis;where a prayer service will be held Tuesday;Dec.13;at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St.John’s Roman Catholic Church;Perryopolis;with the Rev.Fr.William R.Rathgeb as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A wake service will be held Monday at 8:15 p.m. in the funeral home. The Blair-Lowther Funeral Home;Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
