Obituary

Joseph E.Murt,owner of Belmar Nursery in Fairhope,died Wednesday,Oct.14,1981 in Mon Valley Hospital,following a short illness. Mr.Murt,54,resided at 214 Marine St.,Fairhope,Belle Vernon. Born March 3,1927 in Triadelphia,W.Va.,he was the son of the late John and Gertrude McDonough Murt. He served in the U.S.Navy during World War II and was a Boy Scout leader in Fairhope. Survivors include his widow,Betty Bradish Murt,two sons,Joseph R.of Fairhope and William D.,at home,three daughters,Mrs.Gary (Linda) Skibo of Fayette City R.D.1,Mrs.Norman (Carol) Valo of East Millsboro,and Mrs.Robert (Pamela) Hill of Fairhope,one granddaughter,Jodi Valo and three sisters,Mrs.Dominick (Elizabeth) Cannigani of Fairhope,Mrs.George (Theresa) Tolan of Sweeney Plan,Belle Vernon and Mrs.Howard (Margaret) Park of Fairless Hills. In addition to his parents,Mr.Murt was preceded in death by three brothers. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.,Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,and on Saturday until 10 a.m.,at which time a blessing service will be held in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family requests,in lieu of flowers,memorial contributions be made to the Washington Twp.-Fayette City Community Ambulance Service or a favorite charity. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
