Thomas A. Meacci, 89,of 35 Sampson St.,Belle Vernon,died early Monday morning,Jan. 14,1980,at Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Pestoia,Italy, on Jan. 24,1890,he was the son of the late Faustina and Lavina Bellandi Meacci. He was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. He was a veteran of World War I,serving with the Pennsylvania 28th Division,Company No.1. He lived in Belle Vernon for 80 years and owned the Meacci Grocery Store for 50 years before retiring in 1960. He is survived by three sisters, Irene Meacci at home,Mrs. Marion (Eva) Evans of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Dale (Evelyn) Jenkins at home. Friends may call at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,Monday after 7 p.m. and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Sebastian's Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
