Emily L.Lewis;83;formerly of Roscoe;died Monday;April 14;1997;at the Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home;Washington;D.C. She was born in Roscoe;Jan.15;1914;a daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Sash Swinhoe. Mrs.Lewis was a member of the Stockdale Church of the Nazarene and the Long Branch Grange. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law;Judi and John Bizet;with whom she made her home;two sons and a daughter-in-law;Harold and Beverly Lewis of Roscoe and Darrell Loman Lewis of Finleyville;eight grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren;and a sister;Catherine Holman of Stockdale. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Harold A.Lewis Sr.;May 4;1965;and a daughter;Wanda L.Farkos.Feb.8;1995. Friends will be received in the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes Inc.;1008 Furlong Ave.;Roscoe;Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.with the Rev.Elwood Vandiver;pastor of the Stockdale Church of the Nazarene;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Belle Vernon. The Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
