Obituary

Thomas J. Lofink Sr.,84,of Fairhope, Belle Vernon,died at 7:28 a.m.,Friday,July 12,1991,in his home after a lengthy illness.  Mr. Lofink was born in Allenport,Washington County,on Nov. 2,1906, a son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Cavanaugh Lofink.  He was a retired steelworker at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr. Lofink was a member of Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City;the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club;the Fayette City-Washington Township Lions Club;and the Allenport Pittsburgh Steel Bowling League.  A son, Robert P. Lofink,died in 1990.  Three brothers and one sister are also deceased.  Surviving are his wife,Sophia (Sally) Deluga Lofink;two sons, Thomas J. Lofink Jr.of Fairhope and Col. William J. Lofink of Washington, D.C.;two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Falise of Fairhope,Belle Vernon,and Mrs. Eugene (Marlene) Updegraff of Greensburg;nine grandchildren;one great-grandson;and one sister,Margaret Lofink,of Youngstown,Ohio. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday until 9:30 a.m.,the hour of a Prayer Service in the funeral home,followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City,with the Rev. Andrew M.Kawecki as celebrant. A Parish Rosary will be recited Monday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
