Obituary

Sam Lorenzo,Jr.,22,of 410 Oneida St.,Monessen,died suddenly Sunday,Nov.26,1989,at 5:59 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township,after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home. Mr.Lorenzo was born April 15,1967,in Ft.Campbell,Ky.,a son of Sam Lorenzo,who survives and resides in Webster,and Margaret Lowe Toman,who survives and resides in Belle Vernon. He was employed at Denny's Restaurant in Rostraver Township where he recently received the restaurant chain's Employee of the Month award. Mr.Lorenzo was a 1986 graduate of Monessen High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church,Monessen,which he served as offertory organist.Mr.Lorenzo was also a member of the Russian Club in Pricedale. He served as a volunteer at the Monessen Public Library and District Center. His paternal grandmother,Olive E.Lorenzo,is deceased. Surviving,in addition to his parents,are his maternal grandparents,Robert and Francis Lowe,of Monessen,with whom he made his home,his step-father,David Toman,of Belle Vernon,his step-mother,Elizabeth Toman,of Webster,a brother,Paul J.Lorenzo,of Webster,two sisters,Regina Toman of Belle Vernon and AnnaMarie Lorenzo of Webster,his paternal grandfather,Nick Lorenzo,Sr.,of Webster,and numerous aunts and uncles. Friends will be received Tuesday,from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Stephen D.Yoney,Jr.,Funeral Home,First Street and Schoonmaker Avenue,Monessen. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev.Conrad Auel,pastor,First Christian Church,Monessen,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
