Walter E.Lenhart of 804 Jane St.;Speers Hill;Charleroi;died suddenly on Saturday;Dec.26;1987;at 8:15 p.m.at his home. He was 74. Mr.Lenhart was born Feb.2;1913;in Pricedale. He was a member of Speers United Methodist Church. Mr.Lenhart was a member and past president of F&AM Lodge No.643;and was also a member of the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection. In 1948;he was elected to the Belle Vernon Cemetery Association Board of Directors. In April 1949 he became treasurer of that board;a post he held until his death. Mr.Lenhart had been employed at the former Vance Hardware Store for 29 years until 1962;when he became a partner in the former Monessen Pluming and Electric store until 1985. A former Belle Vernon area resident;he had lived in Speers since 1951. Mr.Lenhart is survived by his wife;Lois Thompson Lenhart. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Tuesday;Dec.29;at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Zane Howland;pastor of Speers United Methodist Church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masonic services will be held by F&AM Lodge 643 on Monday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
