Obituary

Walter E.Lenhart of 804 Jane St.,Speers Hill,Charleroi,died suddenly on Saturday,Dec.26,1987,at 8:15 p.m.at his home. He was 74. Mr.Lenhart was born Feb.2,1913,in Pricedale. He was a member of Speers United Methodist Church. Mr.Lenhart was a member and past president of F&AM Lodge No.643,and was also a member of the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection. In 1948,he was elected to the Belle Vernon Cemetery Association Board of Directors. In April 1949 he became treasurer of that board,a post he held until his death. Mr.Lenhart had been employed at the former Vance Hardware Store for 29 years until 1962,when he became a partner in the former Monessen Pluming and Electric store until 1985. A former Belle Vernon area resident,he had lived in Speers since 1951. Mr.Lenhart is survived by his wife,Lois Thompson Lenhart. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Tuesday,Dec.29,at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Zane Howland,pastor of Speers United Methodist Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masonic services will be held by F&AM Lodge 643 on Monday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
