George B.Lee;of 1268 Rostraver St.Monessen;died Thursday;Nov.20;1980 in the Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. He was 85. Born in Irvona;Clearfield County;Mr.Lee had been a Monessen resident for the past 51 years. Mr.Lee had been employed as a stationary engineer at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Monessen Plant;until his retirement in 1963. He served as a former director of the Federal Credit Union at the steel plant. He was a veteran of World War I;having served with the U.S.Army Calvary. Mr.Lee was a member and former elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the F&AM Oscelia Lodge 515;Oscelia;Pa.and the McKean Commandry No.80 and the VFW;both of Charleroi;Royal Arch Chapter No.290;Monessen;and the Syria Temple Shrine of Pittsburgh. Survivors include his widow;Beatrice Boyce Lee;two sons;Dr.Howard G.Lee;M.D.;of Phoenixville;Pa.;and Robert W.Lee of Richmond;Ind.;seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;four sisters;Miss Sarah Lee;Mrs.Martha Pusey;Mrs.Glenn (Jenny) Lehman;and Mrs.Louis (Hazel) Shoft;all of Madera;Pa.;and two brothers;John and James Lee;also of Madera. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic services will be held Friday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home;with the Rev.Joseph Rial;pastor of the United Methodist Church of Monongahela;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Monessen Ambulance Service or a favorite charity.
