Obituary

Zelma M.Kostelac,87,of Clinton Township,Mich.,formerly of Green Street,Belle Vernon,died Sunday,May 28,2000,at 4:10 p.m.at the home of her daughter. She was born Nov.2,1912,in Belle Vernon,a daughter of the late Charles and Maude Tharpe Hammitt. Mrs.Kostelac was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon,the Belle Vernon and Fayette City Golden Agers and the Belle Vernon Area Church Women. She resided in Michigan the past three years,and lived most of her adult life in Belle Vernon. Survivor include a daughter and son-in-law,Norma and Neal Keller,with whom she made her home,19 grandchildren,25 great-grandchildren,and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Joseph Kostelac on April 17,1998,by a son,Charles DeHosse in 1988,two daughters,Lois Mazur in 1997 and Shirley Witmyer in 1992,and one great-granddaughter,Heidi Castor in 1999. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.,a member of the Golden Rule Firm,700 Broad ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m.in the funeral home,with the Rev.Donald Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
