Obituary

Hoyt Kite Jr.,64,of Belrose Drive,Sweeney Drive,Belle Vernon,died Friday,May 29,1992,at 7:15 a.m.,in Jefferson Hospital. Born Sept.3,1927,in Grays Landing,he was the son of the late Hoyt N.and Elizabeth Oglethorpe Kite. Mr.Kite had lived in the Sweeney Plan for 34 years,having formerly resided in Lynnwood. A U.S.Army veteran of World War II,he served in Korea. He was a member of American Legion Post 659,Belle Vernon and was a life member of the Belle Vernon Moose. He retired in February,1989 as a die maker at the Fisher Body Plant of General Motors,West Mifflin. Surviving are his wife,Harriet L.Ferguson Kite,one son,Kenneth R.Kite of Belle Vernon R.D.2,two daughters,Mrs.William (Barbara) Devito of Berea,Ohio,and Mrs.William (Kathy J.) Kolesar Jr.of Waldorf,Md.,three grandchildren,Lisa DeVito,Megan Latavec DeVito and Heather Kolesar,three brothers,James Kite of Flat Rock,N.C.,Gene Kite of North Charleroi,and Robert Kite of Parma,Ohio,and one sister,Mrs.Duane (Darlene) Cap of Monongahela R.D. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother,John Kite,in 1987. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m.,with the Rev.Marlin Miller of Fells United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
