Obituary

John Robert Kalakewich,45,of 225 Water St.,Belle Vernon,died sudddenly Saturday,April 25,1992,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Mr.Kalakewich was born Sept.26,1946,in North Charleroi,a son of the late John and Mary Catherine Sullenberger Kalakewich. He had been employed as a lathe operator at the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Rail Mill in Monessen. Mr.Kalakewich was a U.S.Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Italia Unita Club,Charleroi. Surviving are his wife,Mary Lou Basits Kalakewich,one daughter,Marmie Simon,of Dunlevy,two stepsons,David Brewer of Belle Vernon and Scott Brewer at home,four step-daughters,Pamela Brewer of Belle Vernon,Debra LaRew of Monessen,Mrs.Timothy (Nancy) Matsick of Belle Vernon,and Marcy Simon of Dunlevy,three brothers,Paul Douglas Kalakewich of Belle Vernon,James Daryl Kalakewich of Monongahela and Ralph Frank Kalakewich of West Palm Beach,Fla.,two sisters,Mary Eileen Fauvie of West Palm Beach,Fla.,and Mrs.Dennis (Kathy Lynn) Sukel in Florida,and six grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. Interment services for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday,April 30,in the Chapel of Belle Vernon Cemetery,with the Rev.Donald A.Bowers,pastor,First Christian Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,is in charge of arrangements.
