Mary Krofchek;95;of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;April 5;1992;at 3:30 a.m.in Parish house Residential Care Home;Perryopolis;following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb.25;1897;in Czechoslovakia;a daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.Peter Podany. Mrs.Kofchek was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church;Fayette City;and the Jednota Society. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;John Krofchek;Feb.26;1972;two brothers;John and Joseph Podany;and a son;Thomas Krofchek. Survivors include one son;John Krofchek of Coraopolis;four daughters;Mary Vasko of Lynnwood;Belle Vernon;Mrs.Carl (Ann) Pesi and Margaret Fedora;both of Fairhope;Belle Vernon;and Mrs.Joseph (Helen) DiBasilio of Monongahela R.D.4;13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday until 9:30 a.m.;when a prayer service will be held in the funeral home;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Richard Mackiewicz;pastor;as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A parish wake servce will be held Monday at 3 p.m.;followed by recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m.;both in the funeral home. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
