George W. Kistler Jr.of North Charleroi died suddenly Wednesday,Feb.21,1990,at 2:09 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 65. Mr. Kistler was born Aug. 21,1924,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late George W.Sr.and Mary Ellen Gregg Kistler. Protestant by faith,he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Kistler was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Monessen plant. Survivors include his wife,Esther Mitchell Kistler; one son,Barry Kistler of Coal Center R.D.1;one daughter,Mrs. George (Carol Ann) Upvall of Philo,Ohio;three grandchildren,Michelle Barstow,George Ivar Upvall and Blake Boyd;one brother, James H.Kistler Sr. of Clover Hill;and three sisters,Mabel Lessman,Evelyn Federer and Wilma Jean Scullion,all of Charleroi. Friends will be received Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,and Saturday until 1:30 p.m.,when services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Wilson,pastor of Grace United Methodist Church of Coal Center R.D.1,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
