Alex Kukler Sr.,74,of Fairhope, Belle Vernon,died Thursday,May 11,1989,at 10:15 p.m.,in Mon Valley Hospital,following a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 12,1914,in Washington Township,he was the son of the late John and Sophia Owatt Kukla. Mr. Kukler was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club and Washington Township Firemen's Social Club. He retired frm the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,after 43 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Mary Kniha Kukler; three sons,Alexander Kukler Jr. of Fayette City,Kenneth R. Kukler of Portage, Ind.,and Gary Kukler of Fairhope; eight grandchildren;one great-grandchild;and five sisters, Mrs. Ann Moser,Miss Susan Kukler and Mrs. Helen Yeaton, all of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Margaret Morgavo of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Violet Wargo of Hazelton. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,where a Blessing service will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home.
