Obituary

William (Bill) Kovatch of 508 1/2 Perry Ave., Belle Vernon (Fairhope), died Monday, Feb. 15, 1988, at 4:43 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 78. Mr. Kovatch was born Oct. 7,1909, in Washington Township, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Kovatch. A lifelong resident of Washington Township, he was a member of the Hungarian Club of Pricedale. Mr. Kovatch was a retired electrician in the blast furnace of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Monessen plant In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters. On Aug. 19,1986, he and his wife, Isabel Turda Kovatch, celebrated 50 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, William E. Kovatch of Perryopolis, two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Eileen) Marraccini of Fairfax, Va., and Mrs. David (Mary Ann) Smith of Washington, D.C., one sister, Lena Sakalik of Belle Vernon, and one granddaughter, Casey Marie Kovatch. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home, 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Thursday,Feb.18,1988,at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
