Valdo Benedetti, 89, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. A son of the late Dante and Zuara (Monticelli) Benedetti, he was born in Clairton, PA on April 1, 1936. Nicknamed “Babe,” Valdo was a member of Clairton High School’s class of 1954.
Valdo was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1961 to 1964. Upon honorable discharge from his duties as a medic in the U.S. Army, Valdo studied at the Gradwohl School of Medical Technology in St. Louis, Missouri. He was employed by Chapel Medical Group in New Haven, CT as an office manager and phlebotomy technologist, where he worked for 35 years before his retirement. Valdo has been a resident of Boca Raton, FL for the past 24 years. Valdo was an avid golfer and played for many years in both Connecticut and Florida.
He is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Marla and Matthew Kane of West Hartford, CT, two granddaughters, Rory Kane and Kendra Kane, a sister, Pola (Larry) Dugan of Irwin, a sister in-law, Nancy Benedetti of South Park, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Francine Scholsohn Benedetti on April 2, 2025 and two brothers, Adolph (Mary) Benedetti and Jordan Benedetti.
Friends will be received on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
