Obituary

Walter Katchmark of 328 Market St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,July 19,1984,at 9:35 p.m. in McKeesport Hospital, McKeesport.  He was 85. Mr. Katchmark was born May 25,1899,in Buckeye,Pa.,a son of the late John and Anna Katchmark.  He was a retired coal miner,having worked at the Somers Mine. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon,Mr. Katchmark was a World War I veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. His wife, Teresa Popovich Katchmark,died on May 28,1960.Surviving are one son, Robert Katchmark of Palm Springs,Calif.;seven daughters,Mrs. Boyd (Katherine) Hamilton,Mrs. Phillip (Dorothy) Crusan,Mrs. Leon (Betty) Ambler,Mrs. Anthony (Maryann) Ercegovich and Mrs. Thomas (Pearl) Snyder,all of Belle Vernon,and Mrs. Pauline Cummins of Cleveland,Ohio,and Mrs. Dale (Edith) McQuillis of Perryopolis;one brother, Thomas Katchmark of Clarksville,Pa.;one sister,Mrs. Katherine Kolchok of Uniontown;32 grandchildren;13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Friends will be received at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Sebastian's Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
