Mary J. Berenik Kostelac of 223 Hillman St.,Belle Vernon,died Friday, Aug. 5,1983,at 7:30 a.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 78. Mrs. Kostelac was born Dec. 16,1904,in Passaic,N.J. She was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City. Mrs. Kostelac was retired from Corning Glass Works,Charleroi Plant,and was a member of the Corning Retirees. She was preceded in death by her husband, James I.Kostelac,in 1962 and a grandson,Richard,in 1971. Survivors include four sons, John of Monessen,Joseph of Fairhope,William of New Hyde Park, Long Island,N.Y. and Rudolph of Fayette City R.D.1; one daughter, Rose Marie McFall of Fairhope;11 grandchildren;20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. and all day Sunday in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,where a Prayer Service will be held Monday,Aug. 8,at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit R.C.Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Rinn, pastor of the church,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. A Parish Wake Service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
