Obituary

Joseph Kossar of Belle Vernon R.D.2 died Saturday at 1:10 p.m. in Veteran's Hospital,Aspinwall. He was 64. Mr.Kossar was born July 14,1918,in Donora,a son of the late Peter and Mary Loss Kossar. A resident of the Belle Vernon area for the past 40 years,he was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church. Mr.Kossar was a veteran of World War II,having served with the U.S.Army. He retired in August of 1980 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel's Monessen Plant,where he had worked as a rigger. Survivors include his widow,Rose Telleck Kossar,one son,Gerald J.Kossar of Mars,three brothers,John of Monongahela and Andrew and Peter,both of Monessen,and three sisters,Mrs.Charles (Anne)Charnak,Mrs.Robert (Sue) Faulks and Mrs.Edward (Mary) Biszaha,all of Monessen. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday,April 20,at 9 a.m. in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church,Mary St.Belle Vernon,with the Rev.John Kluchko,pastor of the church,officiating. Parastas services will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
