Lavurn A.Kiefer;a lifelong resident of Monessen;died Friday April 15;1983;at 5:25 a.m. at Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg. She was 86. Born Oct.7;1897;in Duquesne;she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Bernmaster Kiefer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monessen. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;John;in 1952;a son;Raymond in May;1962;a brother Raymond on May 20;1966;and a sister;Thelma in November;1976. Surviving are four daughters;Mrs.John (Elma) Mudron of Monessen;Mrs.Robert (Frances) Lowe of Monessen;Mrs.Donald (Lydabelle) Woods of Charleroi and Olive Kiefer of Donora. Also surviving are two sons;Rodney Kiefer of Belle Vernon and Larry of Donora;a sister;Loretta Worley and a brother;Arthur;both of Pittsburgh;14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Stephen D.Yoney Jr. Funeral Home;First Street and Schoonmaker Avenue;Monessen;on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday;April 18;at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev.Earl M.Lehman;pastor of the First Baptist Church of Monessen;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
