Vienna Jefferies;413 Highland Manor;Monessen;died Monday;Aug.10;1981;at 6 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital. She was 108 years old. Born Nov.15;1872 in Gaffney;S.C.;she was the daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs.Lockhart Littlejohn. Mrs.Jefferies had lived in Monessen for over 50 years and was the city’s oldest resident. Mrs.Jefferies was a member of the Mt.Zion Baptist Church;Gaffney;S.C. Survivors include two brothers;Doc Littlejohn and Hirm Littlejohn of Gaffney;four granddaughters;Dolores Burgess;Beryl Jefferies;Joan Woodson;with whom she resided;and Joyce Jackson;all of Monessen;three grandsons;Benjamin Peeler and George Robinson;both of Monessen and William Hemphill of Gaffney;a daughter-in-law;Callie Julye of Belle Vernon and a host of great-grandchildren;nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m.at Mt.Calvary Baptist Church;Monessen;with the Rev.G.E.Mason officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
