A former well-known Mon Valley resident;Clarence L.Jones;died Tuesday;Nov.20;1979 in the state of California;at the age of 96. Mr.Jones;who lived at 8336 Castilian Drive;Huntington Beach;Calif.;died in Pacific Hospital in Huntington Beach. He was born in Fitz Henry;Pa.on Aug.26;1883;son of the late Henry and Sarah Jones. He was a retired supervisor at the Monessen Freight Office of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad;a member of the Monessen Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge and had lived in California since 1965. He was preceded in death by his wife;Myrtle Jones;who died July 28;1965. Surviving are one son;Richard Hale Jones;with whom he made his home;two sisters;Carrie S.May and Mrs.Jess Barnes;both of Hollywood;Fla.;and two grandchildren;Susan and Richard Jones;both of California. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Fred Gnatuk of the First Presbyterain Church of Fayette City officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
