Frances J. Hanks Halkowitz,72, of 600 Fayette Ave.,Belle Vernon,Rostraver Township,died Thursday, Dec. 18,1997 at 4:05 a.m. in Mercy Hosptial, Pittsburgh. Born June 20,1925,in Akron,Ohio,she was the daughter of the late James & Anna Zerone Hanks. Mrs.Halkowitz was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. She was a retired custodian for the Belle Vernon Area School District. She was a member of the Belle Vernon, Fayette City and Perryopolis Golden Age Assemblies. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Michael "Shin" Halkowitz in 1971 and a brother, James Hanks. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael J. and Jeannette Halkowitz of Johnson City, Tenn.,and Ronald and Margie Halkowitz of Brownsville;one daughter and son-in-law,Janice and Ron Lincoski of Daisytown; six grandchidlren, Mrs. Addio (Rhonda) Fiordigigh,Shawn Halkowitz,Christopher Halkowitz,Nicholas Halkowitz,Ronnie Lincoski and Breanna Lincoski; one brother, Anthony "Tony" Antulis of Akron, Ohio and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Vera) Elavsky and Mrs. John (Ann) Yanik,both of Akron, Ohio. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home, 626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C.Catholic Church,Belle Vernon with the Rev. John R. Cindric, V.F.,as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Legion of Mary of St. Sebastian Church will recite the Rosary in the funeral home at 3 p.m. on Friday.
