On Jan. 8, 2015, Hayward R. Wilson peacefully slipped into the arms of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was born on June 8,1923, in Lynchburgh, Va. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. On July 29, 1948, he married Inez Wilson of Smock . They have two children, Hayward Jr., of Prosper, Texas and Sandra Lee of Donora. Hayward was a 34-year member of Antioch Baptist Church in Belle Vernon, where he served as an Usher and Trustee.He worked in the steel mills for 41 years. He was also a member of the NAACP, American Legion and the SAC. Hayward was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Wilson; sister, Geneva Walton; brothers, Roy, James, and Ren. His memory will live on in his sisters, Eunice Wright and Beulah Caines, both of Boston, Mass.; son-in-law, Robert Steward; daughter-in-law, Ellanore Wilson; grandchildren, Sonya, Yvonne, Shavonne, Keisha, Alexia, and Jackie; great-grandchildren, Jada, Cedric, Terrell, Robert; great-great-grandchild, Kelli; nieces and nephews; best friends, Daniel Radcliffe and Charlie James; as well as others. Friends will be received on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 945 Henry Street, Belle Vernon. Viewing will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. Eulogy will be given by Minister Jackie Butler, the Rev. Clifford A. Carter, pastor. Final celebration has been gently placed in the hands of the HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Avenue, Donora, PA, 724-379-5420, Karl Jackson, funeral director. Private interment.
