LydiaH Hale, 90, of 324 Second St., California, died Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Nov. 7,1906, in Morgantown , W.Va. , a daughter of the late Charles M. and Kate Truxal Harvey. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belle Vernon, and of the Eastern Star. She resided in California, Pa. most of her adult life and was formerly of Belle Vernon. She retired after 40 years as a secretary with the J&L Mine in Vesta. Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Alton of Haven Crest, and Mary Dubarr of North Charleroi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hale in 1980; one sister, Annastashia Harvey; and one brother, Winfield Harvey. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev. S. Miles McConnell,pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
