Blairs-Heights; Clairton; and
formerly of Monessen; died
Thursday; Aug. 15; 1996; at
3:25 a.m. in the McKeesport
Hospital.
Born April 10; 1938; in the
former Charleroi-Monessen
Hospital; she was a daughter of
the late Milford and Ruth Phillips Tansmore.
Mrs. Howard was known for
her work with food banks and
many community services in
the Clairton area; where she
had been a resident for the past
20 years; having resided in
Monessen previously.
She was a member of the
Free Holiness Church of Deliverance in Clairton where she
was a former choir member.
She also belonged to the Light
House Ministry Bible School.
In addition to her parents;
she was preceded in death by
her husband; James A.
Speddy Howard in 1975; a
son; Jerry Howard in 1970; one
brother; Merrill Tansmore; and
one sister; Geraldine Tansmore
Crable.
Survivors include three sons;
Billy Ray Howard of Clairton;
Gregory Charles Howard Sr. of
Bethlehem; Pa.; and Garron
Loni Howard Sr. of Jacksonville; N.C.; six daughters;
Marva Vickie Lee Howard
Bethea of Monessen; Cheryl
Ann Tansmore of Monessen;
Renita Roxann Brooks of Westfield; N.J.; Naoma Kimberly Price of Marietta; Ga.; Sheila
Yuvette Davis of Clairton and
Toni Dorae Chavis of McKeesport; four brothers; Charles
Tansmore of Jacksonville; Fla.;
Auther Tansmore and William
Tansmore; both of Monessen;
and Edward Tim Tansmore of
Philadelphia; two sisters;
Charlette Tansmore of Monessen and Maxine Tansmore of
New York City; 29 grandchildren;four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen. Services will be held Monday at the Union Baptist Church;670 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;at 1 p.m.with Thelma Mitchell officiating. Interment will be private. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
