Obituary

Margaret Haywood, 97, of Dunlevy, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1994, at 6 p.m. in Colonial Meadows Personal Care Home, Fallowfield Township. Born Feb. 23, 1897, in Dunlevy, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Lynn Haywood. A lifelong resident of Dunlevy, Miss Haywood was a member of Dunlevy United Methodist Church, where she served as organist for more than 50 years and was a former Sunday School teacher and choir director. She retired in 1962 from Columbia Gas Company. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and was also active in the American Cancer Society. She was a former member of the Quota Club of Charleroi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Norman, Raymond and Thomas Haywood. Surviving are two sisters, Florence Jones of Silanas, Calif, and Mrs. William (Doris) Schlitter of Berea, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Rex A. Wasser of Dunlevy United Methodist Church and the Rev. Charles K. Sowden. retired Methodist minister, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.
