Amelia Bronson-Grace cared about people and loved to sing the praises of the Lord, her family members said. “She loved to sing, play the organ for various churches,” said her brother, Gary Bronson of Monessen. “She was always trying to get kids involved, get them off the streets and down the right path.”Amelia A. Bronson-Grace, 55, of Monessen died in her sleep in her home Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, family members said. Affectionately called “Millie,” she was a 1977 graduate of Monessen High School and attended Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She recently graduated from culinary school and was planning to start a catering business, said her godmother, Dorothy Byrd of Donora. Ms. Bronson-Grace was an active member of Union Baptist Church in Monessen, where she was a member of the choir and played piano. She played piano and organ in other churches as well. “If you called her up, she'd ask if you had the sheet music, and she'd go play,” Bronson said. “She always played the piano, and learning the organ came easy,” he said. “She was involved in the choir a lot.” Ms. Bronson-Grace cared about others, Byrd said. “She was a lovely person, a happy person,” she said. “She was a person who loved people and children.” The two women practiced together last week in preparation for playing and singing at church services, Byrd said. “She loved gospel music. She loved music. She loved to sing,” Byrd said. “She loved the Bible and the word of God. Her favorite song was ‘Jesus, You're the Center of My Joy.' She loved the words,” Byrd said.
