Hurford Bob Hale;79;of North Ft.Myers;Fla.;died Tuesday;June 2;1992;at his residence with his wife Jeannette;and grandaughter;Thessaly;present. He was born in Speers;Pennyslvania on February 14;1913 to the late Alfred and Marion Hale. He was preceded in death by a sister Joanna Gaines;and four brothers;William;Russell;Alfred;and Harry. He is survived by his wife of 58 years;Jeannette whom he married in March;1934 in Clearing;Illinois. They met at a Valentine’s Day Dance in Chicago. He is also survived by three children;sons Robert of Pasadena;Cal.and Alan of Belle Fonitaine;Ohio;one daughter;Lynda Wilkerson of Painesville;nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr.Hale was a 32nd degree Mason and was a life member of Boulevard Lodge 882 & F&AM of Illinois and also a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite;Valley of Cleveland and The Araba Temple;Mystic Order of the Shrine. Mr.Hale worked in the defense industry during World War II in Chicago and later moved to Cleveland. There he worked in sales servicing the aircraft and automotive industries. He and his wife started their own business;Haleco;in Euclid;Ohio in 1961 and built that business and retired to Ft.Myers;Fla.in the early 1980s. In Euclid;Ohio Mr.Hale was active in the YMCA leadership;served on the Euclid;Ohio Zoning Board;and was active in the East Shore Methodist Church. He enjoyed groups of people;often initiating fun and laughter. He played the piano modestly and entertained children and grandchildren by playing and singing songs that brought people to laughter. His grandchildren refer to him as Grampa Ho Ho . He enjoyed photography;especially taking photos of flowers and animals and many of his photos decorated their Florida home.
