Obituary

Clarence Andrew Horner,79,38 Birch St.,Charleroi,died on Saturday,March 16,1991,at 9:10 a.m.at Kade Nursing Home in Washington,Pa. He was born on Feb.15,1912,in Charleroi,a son of the late John and Pauline Johnson Horner. Mr.Horner was a member of the U.S.Air Force,and was employed at U.S.Steel Irvin Works in Dravosburg. He was a resident of Charleroi all of his life. Mr.Horner was a member of the Mt.Sinai Baptist Church in Lock Four where he served on Senior Choir. He was also former superintendent of the Sunday School and a former deacon. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge No.79. Survivors include a wife,Elmay Horner of Charleroi,six sons,Earnest Horner of Charleroi,Clarence Archie Horner of Charleroi,William J.Horner of Tampa,Fla.,Herbert A.P.Horner of Charleroi,Alfonze Bruce Horner of Austin,Texas,and Alfred D.Horner of Charleroi,two daughters,Patricia A.Horner at home and Diane Faulks Williams of Pittsburgh,14 grandchildren,one great-grandchild and cousins,relatives and friends. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m.at the Mt.Sinai Baptist Church,6 Short St.,Lock Four. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m.in the church with Rev.Luther Wormack officiating. He will be assisted by Rev.Wanda Sawyer,associate minister of Mt.Sinai Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home,645 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,is handling funeral arrangements.
