Elsie T. Harden,91,of 1358 Sadowski Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Sunday,April 1,1990,at 4:30 p.m. in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born in Orient,Pa.,on Aug.15,1898,a daughter of the late George and Frances Brown Trew.Mrs, Harden was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church and had lived in the Belle Vernon area for the last 50 years. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Owen E. Harden in 1959;a son,Samuel C. Smith;a grandson,Larry Owen Harden in 1971;and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons,William D. Smith of Marietta and Melvin O.Harden of Belle Vernon;two daughters,Mrs. James (Gertrude) McDonald of Altoona and Virginia L. Smith of Belle Vernon;one brother,Arthur Maser of Eldora;10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m.with Rev. John C. Park of the Marion Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
