Obituary

Alverta E. Hixenbaugh of Belle Vernon died Sunday,Oct.30,1988,in Mon Valley Hospital after a brief illness. She was 78. Born in Monessen on Sept.10,1910,she was a daughter of the late Lee J.and Mary Brown Roberts. Mrs. Hixenbaugh was a resident of the Rostraver Township area for most of her life,and was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Herman A. Hixenbaugh,one brother,Alvin L.Roberts,and two sisters,Ida Lee Maxwell and Nellie Bruce Hess. Surviving are one son,Lee A. Hixenbaugh of Belle Vernon,one daughter,Mrs.Charles (Carol) Hewitt of Belle Vernon,five grandsons four granddaughters,two brothers,James Roberts of Roseville,Mich.and Jack Roberts of Rostraver Township,and four sisters,Mrs.Betty Mound and Mrs.Tom (Coletta) Brookes,both of Belle Vernon,and Mrs.Harry (Mary Ann) Kreuter and Mrs.Leo (Loretta) Rice,both of Monessen. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home Inc.,Grand Blvd.and Marion Avenue,Monessen,where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.,with the Rev.William Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Robert A.Billick Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
