Ernest S.Halgas of 206 Koslasky Drive;Belle Vernon (Fairhope);died Friday;July 26;1985;at 4:13 a.m. in Allegheny General Hospital;Pittsburgh. He was 60. Mr.Halgas was born June 21;1925;in Pricedale;a son of the late Peter and Mary Wozniak Halgas. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area;he was a member of St.Sebstian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. Mr.Halgas was also a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659;Belle Vernon American Legion Post 3557;the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club;and the Charleroi Slovak Club. He was a veteran of World War II;having served in the U.S.Navy. Mr.Halgas was employed by Corning Glass;Charleroi Plant;as a sprayer and a screener. Survivors include his wife;Catherine Shuma Halgas;two sons;Ernest P.Halgas of Monessen and Lewrence Halgas of Lebanon;three brothers;Joseph;Mack and Rudolph Halgas;all of Belle Vernon;and one sister;Mrs.Anthony (Genevieve) Zema of Monroeville. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where a prayer service will be held Monday;July 29;at 9:30 a.m.;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebstian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
