Obituary

Ernest S.Halgas of 206 Koslasky Drive,Belle Vernon (Fairhope),died Friday,July 26,1985,at 4:13 a.m. in Allegheny General Hospital,Pittsburgh. He was 60. Mr.Halgas was born June 21,1925,in Pricedale,a son of the late Peter and Mary Wozniak Halgas. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,he was a member of St.Sebstian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. Mr.Halgas was also a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659,Belle Vernon American Legion Post 3557,the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club,and the Charleroi Slovak Club. He was a veteran of World War II,having served in the U.S.Navy. Mr.Halgas was employed by Corning Glass,Charleroi Plant,as a sprayer and a screener. Survivors include his wife,Catherine Shuma Halgas,two sons,Ernest P.Halgas of Monessen and Lewrence Halgas of Lebanon,three brothers,Joseph,Mack and Rudolph Halgas,all of Belle Vernon,and one sister,Mrs.Anthony (Genevieve) Zema of Monroeville. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Monday,July 29,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebstian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
