John Gordon Gaskill;87;of Lewis Avenue;Speers Hill;died Tuesday Nov.9;1999;in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born March 25;1912;in Speers;a son of the late George S.and Anna Zehfuss Gaskill. He was a member of the Donora Gospel Hall. On Dec.31;1979;he retired as superintendent of the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Belle Vernon. Survivors include one stepdaughter and son-in-law;Barbara and James Mendola of Dearborn;Mich.;one stepson and daughter-in-law;Robert and Sue Walters of Westland;Mich.;and one sister;Mary McDonald of Speers. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his first wife;Gertrude Watkinson Gaskill on March 23;1976;his second wife;Inez Giorgi Walters Gaskill on Sept.10;1997;one brother;William Gaskill;and five sisters;Sylvia Sutherland;Margaret Sutherland;Georgetta Moyer;Eva Douthitt;and Stella Gaskill. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.;a Golden Rule Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where funeral servicees will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m.with Harold Clark officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
