Violet O. Greer,81,of Charleroi,died Tuesday, Oct. 20,1998,in the emergency room of Monongahela Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Mrs. Greer was born May 5,1917,in Speers, the daughter of the late Harry Albert and Lela Myrtle Hogue O'Daniel. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi and was active in the school's Nettie Welch class. She is survved by one daughter, Erla Magruda of Charleroi;one son, James Greer III of Charleroi;one sister, Nancy Hindle of Wichita, Kan.and two grandchildren, Kelly Cattoni and Jamie Leigh Greer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Greer Jr. in 1992;and one brother, Arnold O'Daniel. Friends will be received on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. D. Edward Bailey of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
