Obituary

Ida Brassart Gerard,91,of Goldsboro,n.c.,formerly of Fallowfield Township,died Saturday,Oct.4,1997,in Goldsboro. Born April 25,1906,in Imperial,she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline Delrue Brassart. Mrs. Gerard was formerly employed as a baker at Rego's Restaurant in Charleroi. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Maurice Gerard,five sisters,Louise Gould,Suzanne Mourner,Virginia Donnelly,Stephanie Herent and Pauline Komondor,and eight brothers,Ferinand,Hippolyte,Klebert,Louis,Joseph,Marceau,Clement and Paul Brassart. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are three daughters,Eileen Nesti of Goldsboro,N.C.,with whom she made her home,Helen Yeager of Charleroi and Margaret Brufont of Portage,Ind.,six grandhildren,six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where services will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M.with the Rev.James Linn,Jr of the First Christian Church,Charleroi,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home.
