Obituary

Sylvia Fay Sid Smith Glotfelty,81,of Lowber,Fayette City R.D.1,died Sunday,June 9,1996,in her home following a lengthy illness. Born July 1,1914,she was a daughter of the late Charles H.and Amy E.Friend Smith. Mrs.Glotfelty was a member of Little Redstone Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and deacon,Sunday School teacher,Vacation Bible School teacher,choir member and custodian. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Clarence B.Glotfelty,on Nov.1,1967,a sister,Gertrude B.Bronson,and two brothers,Walter E.and Lester E.Smith. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Main Street,Fayette City,and Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m.,when services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev.Susan Speakman officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made in memory of Sylvia F.Glotfelty to Little Redstone Presbyterian Church,R.D.1 Box 182-M,Fayette City,Pa,15438. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
