Obituary

Lawrence P. Goe, 78, of 330 Graham St., Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1988, at 2:40 p.m. in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Pittsburgh. He was born Jan. 24,1910, in Belle Vernon, a son of the late James E. and Samantha Lockley. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was decorated with three Bronze Stars, a good conduct medal, a distinguished unit badge, an American Campaign Medal, a European-African Medal, Eastern Campaign Medal and a Victory Medal. He was a member of the Pleasant Green A.M.E. Church and the James E. Zundell American Legion Post #446 of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was precedced in death by one brother, Kenneth A. Goe. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Noreen Goe, one daughter, Wanda Lorraine Perry of Pittsburgh, one sister, Ernestine Bedford of Donora, and two grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pleasant Green A.M.E. Church, Pricedale,where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.with Rev.Robert L.Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Percy E.Law Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
